It is 14mm 275V Varistor. Varistor, thermistor or Thermal resistance is a circuit element whose electrical resistance decreases as the temperature of the environment or the contact surface increases. Varistor resistance is a type of temperature controlled resistor.

• Varistor thermistors are placed in systems that do not want to overheat such as transformers and motors.
• The Varistor resistor is placed for level control in a water tank.
• When the Varistor resistor is connected in series with the motor, it first draws a small current and ensures safe starting of the motor.
• It is widely used in areas where heat balance is critical.
